Pier 1 Barrack St Jetty
On a wonderful spring Friday morning we wanted to dine out in the evening but wondering where we should head to. A few weeks ago, we read on the West Australian that Halo was published and the review and was fab. So we decided to head there for dinner. SS decided to make a reservation and lucky enough that we got a spot although its an early spot but it was good enough. I've never been to Halo before and don't know where it is. We venture to the Barrack st Jetty. Halo have a sign and a small one pointing towards an alley. We followed the sign and there it is. I was some sort expecting a bigger entry way instead of entering from a small door. I was a bit disappointed with the entry way.
We got into the restaurant, we were seated with a view. We loved it! This is where we were seated outside area.
The view is just fabulous! Overlooking Perth city on the river.
We order 2 items for entree seared scallops, prawns, roasted butternut pumpkin, smoked garlic $23 and grilled octopus, mediterranean vegetables, feta, basil and walnut pesto $21
I love the scallops they are so fresh and tasty. It's not hot enough as if they had pre cooked it and plated it not too long.
The squid is very tasty but the pesto with olive oil is a bit too much.
As for mains, we ordered the 200g fillet, asparagus, lyonnaise potato, sauce bordelaise, truffle oil $43, at first I wanted the sirloin but I wanted it medium rare, the waiter suggested that I should get the fillet instead. It was a really good suggestion. I did it, the steak tasted wonderful thick and juicy!
We ordered the Pan seared barramundi, parsnip puree, green beans, carrot crisps, sauce vierge $39, the barramundi tasted a bit earthy, the vegetables are very fresh.
The service at the restaurant was superb. The waiter had the knowledge of the menu and also good suggestion of the wine. We ordered the Nanny Goat Pinot Noir
The waiter is good looking as well!
